Experience Makes Anwar Qualify as State Economic Advisor

SHAH ALAM, 23 Nov: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s experience as the Minister of Finance for eight years qualifies him for the position of Selangor State Economic Adviser, says Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

Abdul Khalid said that the actions of the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) Opposition Leader, Datuk Mohd Satim Diman was to deliberately dispute Anwar’s role, is characterised as ‘jealousy’.

“Satim questiond the role of Datuk Seri (Anwar) who is allegedly not suitable. If Sri Serdang (Satim) was the Minister of Finance for eight years, I would ask him to be the advisor. Anwar was chosen for his experience, therefore the task of governing the state and country’s finance is very appropriate,” he said.

He said this during his winding up speech of the 2013 Budget debate at the Selangor State Council (DNS) sitting here this morning.

Previously, Satim had questioned the role of Anwar for allegedly failing to act on a variety of corruption issues and the abuse of power of the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), Yayasan Selangor, the University of Selangor (Unisel) and State Government agencies.
