Selangor Proves Transparency, Gives Rakyat Access to Talam White Paper, Water Restructuring Status

SHAH ALAM, 20 Nov: Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim once again proves the Pakatan Rakyat Government administration’s transparency by revealing two documents regarding two issues that are becoming polemics for Umno-BN.

The document involved is the White Paper concerning the Talam Corporation Bhd debt collection process worth RM392 million which has been ignored by the previous Umno-BN administration.

Apart from that, the Selangor water industry restructuring process was also revealed to the public.

Both the documents can be accessed via the State Government’s official website and the Selangorku Media website starting tomorrow.

This was according to Abdul Khalid in his media conference at State Assembly Annex Building (DNS) today.

Abdul Khalid said that the step has been taken to inform the people of Selangor the truth of the situation regarding both the issues.

“KPMG’s (auditing firm) full report as well as documents regarding the debt collection kept in the DNS office can also be examined by the public according to procedures under the Freedom of information Act.”

“We (also) will prove the State Government’s commitment since 2008 to take over the water services from concession companies to ensure that the consumers of Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya obtain efficient water services at an affordable tariff rate,” he said.

Abdul Khalid said that among the documents revealed are all correspondence between the State Government and the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water regarding efforts made in the reacquisition of water management by the State Givernment.

Abdul Khalid also added that through the documents, the public will understand the Federal Government’s stand on being uninterested in the public’s welfare and instead, prioritises concession companies which have been proven to be Umno cronies.
