Still No Permission for Langat 2 Project

SHAH ALAM, 21 Nov: The State Government repeats their stand to not give the Federal Government permission to continue with the Langat 2 Project unless the restructuring of the water industry in Selangor is settled.

Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that on his side, that are no restrictions on any project in the state that focuses on the people’s development. However, it will first have to be inspected by the Local Authorities (PBT) before being executed.

“I am not hindering the Federal Government from proceeding with any projects that would improve the rakyat’s development,” he said during the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) sitting in the Annex Hall, Selangor State Secretary building today.

Meanwhile, while answering additional questions by Ismail Sani (BN-Dusun Tua) regarding the State Government’s actions should the project still proceed, Abdul Khalid stressed that they would have to refer to the Constitution.

“If the Federal Government abides by the Constitution, they should get certain permissions from the State Government to implement it (any projects). They cannot just carry it out without getting the local authorities approval and the approval of such matters have already been approved in Parliament,” Abdul Khalid explained.
