Dr Rani: Discuss First Before Releasing Statement

SHAH ALAM, 26 Dec: Selangor PAS Commissioner, Dr Abdul Rani Osman urged leaders of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) component parties to discuss first before issuing statements regarding sensitive religious issues.

This is so that the statement will not be manipulated by any party wanting to divert attention from other issues raised by PR such as land acquisition by Selangor Umno-BN.

He said this when commenting the controversy which was raised after the DAP Secretary-General, Lim Guan Eng, asked for the Allah Kalimah to be allowed in Malay language Bibles.

Dr Rani has also denied the Sinar Harian’s portal statement claiming that Selangor PAS scoffed Guan Eng’s statement.

“I would like to stress that Selangor PAS did not scoff, but I only want the issue to not be politicised by any party and to not be manipulated by the media.

“I also ask for this issue to not be prolonged as it is still as court case,” he said when contacted.

Because the issue is still a court case, Dr Abdul Rani has urged all parties to wait for the court’s decision.

Previously, Guan Eng in his Christmas Day message, asked for the Federal Government to allow the word ‘Allah’ to be used in Malay language Bibles, used by Christians in Sabah and Sarawak.
