Dakwah (Missionary) Month Launched, To Be Annual Event

SHAH ALAM, Jan 24: Beginning this year, the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) will make the Dakwah Month programme an annual event.

The programme is held to encourage the Muslim community, particularly in Selangor, to re-embrace their true task and role to spread the message of Islam.

According to Selangor State Secretary Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi, various programmes will be held to promote the Dakwah Month campaign.

“Among the programmes held were Youth Leisure, Love Allah S.W.T, Missionary Visits, Ideal Personality Development, Rakan Muda Missionary, The Beauty of Being Murabbi People, as well as others,” according to the text of his speech which was read aloud by JAIS Director Datuk Marzuki Hussin.

The speech was read during the Selangor Maulidur Rasul Celebration which was themed ‘Wasatiyyah (Moderation) the Pillar of Muslim Unity’ at Malawati Stadium this morning.

Earlier, His Royal Majesty the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah launched the 2013 Dakwah Month.

Accompanying him was Chief Minister of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

The programme which began concurrently with the Maulidur Rasul celebration today will end on the 28th of February.
