SHAH ALAM, Jan 26: Umno-BN allegedly postponed the elections several times because several studies have forecasted that the coalition will lose their administration over Putrajaya.

Coordinator of Youth Solidarity Malaysia (SAMM), Badrul Hisham Shaharin or Chegubard said Umno-BN is obviously desperate to maintain its power.

He said that information from a reliable source stated that once, Umno-BN tried to hold the 13th General Elections (GE-13) but chose to forget about it because they were not confident in winning the elections.

“For your information, Umno-BN has attempted to call for elections four times. Ask Kemas, ask the school teachers, ask the police, and ask Umno leaders, they were instructed to prepare for it four times.

“But evidently they could not call for elections those four times as studies indicated that if Umno-BN were to call for it, not only will they fail to take back Selangor, but they will also be forced out of Putrajaya,” he said in a ceremony celebrating the election machinery of Ijok and Bandar Tun Razak, here.

Also present was the Chief Minister of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

However, he said, Umno-BN can no longer avoid the 13th General Elections because the time frame for the dissolution of parliament and State Assembly is nearing the end.

He said regardless if they agree or disagree, the dissolution of State Assembly will begin in Johor on March 21, followed by other states and at the parliament in April.

PKR vice-president and Lembah Pantai Member of Parliament Nurul Izzah Anwar said, the people need to rise up to act with Pakatan Rayat (PR) in order to ensure proper and responsible administration of the country..

“We want to govern and save Malaysia, not to get revenge. Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad can retire, we are not keen to imprison him.

“We are concerned with saving public money and ensuring our children and grandchildren can enjoy the quality of life, not like those who continue to betray the people’s struggle,” she said.
