SHAH ALAM, 17 JAN: Selangor Pakatan Rakyat (PR) wants police to investigate the booklet that is defamatory in nature against the Selangor State Government which is currently being distributed to heads of traditional villages.

DAP Deputy State Secretary, Hg Suee Lim said that the distribution of the slanderous booklet featured news that taints the State Governments administration with baseless facts.

He said that the booklet was obtained via post to seven village heads in the Sekinchan constituency and two members of DAP, two weeks ago.

The Malay-language booklet series contains 10 pages, only showing the names of journalists and does not display the editorial board, address of printers and also publisher.

The contents of the booklet featured news regarding current issues played by pro-BN media, including the water crisis.

“So far, we have found that it has already released a total of 21 series. We believe that the booklett is published by Umno-BN. The purpose is the same as ‘Selangor Terkini’ which was published by them two years ago.

“We are disappointed by what is done on their part. If you want to attack Pakatan Rakyat, let it be healthy, orderly politics. Their actions are akin to ‘throwing stones and hiding hands’ (baling batu sembunyi tangan),” said Ng who is also the Sekinchan Assemblyman at a press conference at the Annex Building of the State Government Secretariat Office here.

Also present were the state PKR Information Chief, Shuhaimi Shafei and the Selangor PAS Commissioner, Dr Rani Osman.

Meanwhile, Shuhaimi said that the action by Umno-BN seems like it is losing capital to attack the State Government.

“If this is how democracy is practiced by Umno-BN, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is not entitled to ask the people for opportunity to govern this state again.

“Najib’s demand is a funny demand, it is impossible that the people will provide the opportunity because opportunity has already been given 11 times but Umno-BN is the one destroying itself,” he said.

In relation to that, a police report was made by the heads of traditional villages in Sekinchan yesterday at the Sekinchan Police Station at 3.30pm.
