Organisers Ask Participants of HKR112 Comply With The Direction of Leaders

KUALA LUMPUR, 10 Jan: Participants of the People’s Uprising Assembly (HKR112) must comply with all directions given when gathering and moving towards Merdeka Stadium this Saturday.

This is because the organisers of HKR 112 and the police have expressed mutual agreement in setting up several locations which will be the initial gathering site.

This was told by HKR112 Organising Committee Member Hishamuddin Rais in a press conference at the compound of the Dang Wangi District Police (IPD) after more than an hour of discussions with the police.

Location and Pakatan Rakyat leaders involved are as follows:

Brickfields – Aruchelvan, Maria Chin Abdullah dan Faizal Yusof.

Universiti Malaya – Nurul Izzah, Ng Suee Lim dan Raja Iskandar, Adam Adli, Safwan Anang.

KLCC – Mazlan Aliman, Datuk Husam Musa, Datuk Teng Chang Kim.

Jalan Sultan – Ronnie Liu, Fuziah Salleh

Central Market – Dr Siti Mariah, Taresa Kok, Elizabeth Wong

Padang Sultan Sulaiman – Chegu Bard

Apart from that, the organisers have also confirmed the four main roads which will be closed to ensure that the assembly and the march of the participants go smoothly.

The four roads are Jalan Hang Jebat, Jalan Changkat Stadium, Stadium Road and Jalan Maharajalela.

According to Hishammuddin again, participants are reminded to use public transportation to avoid traffic congestion on the day of the assembly.

“We, from the organising committee, also ask traders to trade, if possible, across the road near the Chinese Assembly Hall (KLCAH).

“This is part of what has been agreed with the police earlier,” he added.

Meanwhile, HKR Organising Chairman, Mohammad Sabu stated that discussions with the management of Merdeka Stadium this morning took place positively.

Apart from that, they are also ready to comply with 27 regulations set, as stated in the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.

“Discussions with the stadium management was positive regarding safety and technical matters,” he said.

He added that the organisers will also provide 10,000 security personnel consisting of the Unit Amal and members of Pakatan Rakyat, to help the running of the assembly.

In the meantime, the Dang Wangi Police Chief, ACP Zainuddin Ahmad said that the police will not allow any banners or stickers that are seditious, and disruption of peace to be brought during the assembly to avoid anxiousness among the society and the general public.
