Teresa Donates to Flood Victims

PUCHONG, 28 JAN: Kinrara Assemblywoman Teresa Kok visited flood victims at Kampung Tengah in Puchong to give contributions to those who have been staying at the Nurul Iman Mosque in that village.

The victims were moved to the Mosque which was turned into a temporary evacuation centre following the flood incident that happened last Friday.

She said that although 41 families were affected by the floods, only 25 families had moved to the mosque for shelter.

Teresa who is also the Member of Parliament for Seputeh donated RM150 to each of the families who fell victim to the floods as well as RM50 per person to those who provided aid to the flood victims.

She presented the contributions at a ceremony which was held outside the Mosque.

“I would like to express gratitude to all government officials from the Petaling District Office, MPSJ (Subang Jaya Municipal Council), the Welfare Department, village heads and the area’s JKKK (Village Development and Security Committee), the Mosque’s Imam and volunteers.

“I also commend the people from the Mosque for willing to let the mosque to be used as a place of refuge for the flood victims,” she said.
