Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that the Selangor State Government always supported efforts to provide Affordable Housing to ensure that the people own their own homes.

He said that PKNS builds high-cost housing not for profit alone, but it is channeled to those who have yet to own a home.

He said that this is by giving subsidies to RMM projects such as giving RM79.6 million for the Bukit Botak project and RM12 million for the project at Bandar Baru Bangi.

“With PKNS’ achievement of not abandoning any projects, I hope that the people in Selangor will continue to give their support to PKNS,” he said.

Abdul Khalid said this at the PKNS Antara Gapi Ideal Homes Groundbreaking ceremony here at Serendah.

In the meantime, Housing, Building Management and Squatters Exco, Iskandar Abdul Samad said that the Selangor Government has established a Affordable Housing Technical Committee in efforts to accelerate the development of the project.

He said that the committee is chaired by the Selangor Properties Housing Authority and it consists of the Selangor Land and Mines Office as well as the Department of Town and Country Planning of Selangor.

“So far, a total of 942 applicants have filled out the form to apply for affordable housing,” said Iskandar.
