DYMM The Sultan Of Selangor Awards Khatib Mace To Bukit Jelutong Mosque

KLANG, 28 FEB: His Royal Highness (Duli Yang Maha Mulia) the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah assented to present a Khatib Mact and to donate 500 copies of the Al-Qur’an for the usage of the Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Mosque in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam.

Both were presented by the Sultan of Selangor in a ceremony held at the Kota Shah Alam Palace this evening which was also attended by the Chief Minister of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

The mace was received by the Chief Imam of the mosque, Ustad Abas Mohd Yusof which the Al-Qur’an copies were presented to the mosques Imam Kariah, Mohd Azizi Yaakob.

In addition, the Chief Minister also contributed carpets to the mosque which was received by the mosque Committee Member, Mohd Fauzi Abdul Rahman.

The mosque which cost RM22.5 million commenced construction in 2010 and is expected to be fully completed in March this year.

The overall cost was co-financed by the Wakaf Khas Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj (RM6 million), the State Government (RM11 million), Sime Darby Property Bhd (RM6 million) and the Mosque Parish members (RM2.5 million).
