Nik Nazmi said that also receiving the lot of land was the Kelana Jaya Wanita Umno Division Chief, Datin Paduka Seripah Noli Syed Hussin, who was also the former Seri Setia assemblyman in 2004.

“It is upsetting because while the people are facing difficulties in acquiring a piece of land or to buy a house near Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya, they are able to get land easily and become instant millionaires by gaining such an advantage,” said Nik Nazmi.

He said this in a press conference regarding the ‘1Malaysia Land Grab’ or ‘Sapu Tanah 1 Malaysia’ (SAT1M) which was held here at USJ 3.

Meanwhile, Subang Jaya assemblyman, Hannah Yeoh said that the land grant was not reasonable because they attained it at RM1 per foot while the the current property rate is priced at around RM175 per foot.

“The lands have 99 bungalow land lots with a lease period of 99 years, approved by the Exco at that time on 20 February 2001,” said Hannah.

She added that the land grant had three names of Kelana Jaya MCA politicians; Lee You Hin, Yap Yun Fatt and Lim Kok Sai.

“We want BN leaders to give a response on this issue when they campaign in Subang Jaya as to why the could acquire land at such a cheap price,” said Hannah.

Sekinchan Assemblyman, Ng Suee Lim said that the exposure of the land grant scandal proves that the Umno-BN leadership prioritises their own party cronies.

“We urge for the people of Selangor to make accurate judgements in this (upcoming) elections,” stressed Ng.

Also present at the land scandal exposure press conference was Puchong MP, Gobind Singh Deo.
