SHAH ALAM, 7 FEB: The National Chief Justice, Tun Arifin Zakaria was awarded a Selangor state Honorary Degree and Decoration in conjunction with His Royal Highness (Duli Yang Maha Mulia) the Sultan of Selangor’s 67th Birthday.
Tun Arifin’s award ceremony of the First Class Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (S.P.M.S.) Honorary Decoration was consummated by His Royal Highness (DYMM) the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at the Bukit Kayangan Palace here today.
The S.P.M.S. Decoration received by Arifin carries the title ‘Datuk Seri’.
Meanwhile, Land Army Chief, General Tan Sri Panglima Zulkifli Zainal Abidin was conferred the Honorary Decoration of Second Class Datuk Paduka Mahkota Selangor (D.P.M.S.) which carries the title ‘Datuk’.
The two recipients were awarded medals at a special ceremony because they were not able to attend the Sultan’s birthday celebrations on December 11 last year because they were on duty overseas.
Also present were; Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim and Selangor State Assembly Speaker (DNS), Datuk Teng Chang Khim.
During the previous ceremony, 98 individuals were awarded Selangor State Honorary Degrees and Decorations.
