PETALING JAYA, 27 FEB: The target income of RM4,000 per month for every household by Pakatan Rakyat can be achieved by adjusting the salary scale of jobs in Malaysia and to distribute the nation’s wealth.

It will be carried out by creating more quality job opportunities for Malaysians and to implement a minimum wage scheme of RM1,100 per month in all industries.

PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli said that the target can be achieved within the first term of PR’s administration should the coalition successfully win Putrajaya.

Rafizi stressed that the target is not a ‘utopian dream’.

“Setting the minimum wage at RM1,100 is important and a priority because when there is a raise in income, the whole income scheme will be restructures and that will balance the inequality of the wage differential,” said Rafizi.

He said this during the Pakatan Rakyat Manifesto Presentation Press Conference which was helf at the PKR headquarters.

He said that the economic policy that PR is targeting for is when each individual in a house earns an income of at least RM2,000, it will indirectly increase the household income (husband-wife) to RM4,000.

“If we make sure that the existing job opportunities double its salary and there are jobs with quality wages, it will increase the number of job opportunities on the overall,” said Rafizi.

It has been previously reported that the PR Manifesto which was launched on 25 February will add 1 million job opportunities for Malaysians by reducing the foreign labour workforce in stages.

The reduction on the labour force will be carried out in stages over five years and the jobs will be offered to local workers.

This will be followed with the implementation of the minimum wage scheme of RM1,100 per month.
