Selangor Sultan Agrees To Dissolving Selangor State Legislative Assembly

SHAH ALAM, 20 FEB: His Royal Highness (Duli Yang Maha Mulia) the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has no objection and agrees to the decision of the State Government to dissolve the Selangor State Legislative Assembly (DUN) for the elections when the time comes.

Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim explained that the Sultan of Selangor said this in his weekly meeting with him which was held today.

“His Highness agrees…I will announce the dissolving of the DUN at the appropriate time and in an orderly manner.

“The Sultan has no objections to the dissolving of the DUN,” he said in a press conference after the Exco Meeting here today.

Abdul Khalid said that the State Government is all set for the dissolving in preparation for the elections although it is not yet stated when it will be done.

He added that the State Government has no problems should the elections be conducted separately or simultaneously with the parliamentary elections.

Previously, Abdul Khalid once said the State Government would dissolve the Selangor State Legislative Assembly after the celebration of this Chap Goh Meh.
