PETALING JAYA, 13 Mar: The issue of national security is the main focus which should be given emphasis by the government instead of continuous attacks on trying to link political leaders, especially from Pakatan Rakyat (PR), said PKR Deputy President, Azmin Ali.
This matter was asserted by Azmin who claims that this situation is a desperate attempt to distract certain parties in regards to the issue of national security.
He said that attempts to involve Pakatan Rakyat leaders, especially PKR Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has been an issue which has been ongoing for 15 years and he is not surprised about this.
“The attention we are giving is serious because we can smell the efforts of political leaders who are trying to distract the people from safety issues as well as other issues. Trying to cover up their (the government’s) weaknesses in overcoming the problem in Lahad Datu.
“This is not a new thing, it has been almost 15 years that issues that involve the country has been shouldered by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. So we ask for the people to rise and state their stand and to ask the federal government to not play politics but to focus all efforts in solving the issue of the people’s security in Sabah especially in the context of today,” he said at a press conference at the PKR headquarters.
Regarding allegations linking the former Governor of Mindano, Nor Misuari with Anwar Ibrahim, Azmin explained that Anwar had previously stated his stance on the matter.
He said that all government and opposition leaders have met with Misuari without having to deny the matter.
