SHAH ALAM, 7 Mar: The Star newspaper has been urged to immediately withdraw and make an apology in regards to the article titled ‘Selangor MB slams Tian Chua’ on page 12 today.

The title of the report did not at all reflect the comments made by Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

According to the Chief Minister’s Political Secretary, Faekah Husin in a media statement, the article was done irresponsibly, inaccurately and was malicious.

“If the Star fails to do so, legal action will be taken against the newspaper.

“The title is totally contradictory to the news report itself which stated that ‘Khalid said he respected and believed in the efforts made by the police and armed forces in defending the country’s sovereignty’,” said Faekah.

She said that nowhere in the news report mentioned elements stating that Abdul Khalid had criticised Tian Chua.

“Abdul Khalid said that he never thought that any PKR leaders would make such statements,” said Faekah.
