SHAH ALAM, 25 Mar: There are no restrictions for contesting DAP party leaders to use other Pakatan Rakyat coalition partners’ logos if the Registrar of Societies (ROS) truly intends to cancel the registration of the party.
PAS Vice-President, Salahuddin Ayub said that the readiness of DAP Parliamentary Leader, Lim Kit Siang to use the PAS logo clearly reflect the strength of consensus in the Pakatan Rakyat coalition.
“We appreciate Kit Siang’s intention, to me if reflect the trust DAP has in PAS, as partners in Pakatan Rakyat.
“This proves the increasing closeness in spirit of camaraderie in Pakatan Rakyat,” said Salahuddin when contacted by TV Selangor.
Previously, Lim was reported as saying that he might compete using the PAS symbol in the upcoming general elections should ROS cancel his party due to errors in the party election last year.
In a series of Twitter updates, Kit Siang said that although there is no reason for ROS to suspend DAP’s registration, he was concerned that there is a conspiracy to prevent his party from using their own emblem.
PKR Vice-President, N Surendren said that PKR always has their door open for DAP to use their party logo to achieve in taking over the country’s administration after the 13th General Elections (GE-13).
Surendran is also not ruling out the possibility that the action by ROS to cancel DAP’s party registration is a command from Umno-BN.
“There is no plausible reason for ROS to cancel DAP’s party registration.
“If DAP’s party registration is cancelled, it is clear that it is due to instruction from Umno-BN. This is clearly an attempt to steal the general elections from Pakatan Rakyat.”
