SHAH ALAM, 10 Mar: Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR) excellence in governing Selangor after the ‘Political Tsunami’ in 2008, clearly proves that this coalition is on the right track in bringing about a new paradigm shift in Putrajaya.

This is backed up by the consistent accomplishment in the economic position, especially in Selangor, that even managed to increase the cash savings up to RM2.6 billion.

With a happy tone, Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim announced it in front of almost 5,000 people of Selangor including the Selangor Economic Advisor, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“I would like to say that in this five years of administration, there has been changes. Not only did we give welfare, but we developed with the collection of funds.

“Selangor reserves are in good condition, from RM400 million in 2007, it has become RM2.6 billion now.

“PR is ready to go to Putrajaya. We have proven that we have the experience.

“The people did not lose out by choosing PR,” he said as the people applauded in conjunction with the climax of the 5th Anniversary Celebration of the Selangor Government.

According to Abdul Khalid, although the Selangor Government spent more than RM821 million on welfare programmes for the people, the transparency practiced in the administration is the key to the success in increasing the state revenue savings for the well-being of all citizens of Selangor.

He explained that the State Government is also prepared to spend RM300 million from the reserve for the construction of the 3rd Klang bridge to increase comfort for the people of Klang as previously announced.

In the meantime, Abdul Khalid also appreciated the cooperation and commitment shown by the Selangor Excos, Assemblymen and Members of Parliament who are always working hard to ensure that the affairs of the people of Selangor are defended.

The anniversary celebration was also attended by the DAP Chief Member of Parliament, Lim Kit Siang and the Selangor PAS Commissioner, Dr Abdul Rani Osman who represented the PAS President, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.
