PR Determined To Continue PI Bala’s Crusade

RAWANG, 16 Mar: Leaders of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) have vowed to continue the crusade of the late private investigator, P Balasubramaniam (PI Bala) in order to uncover the truth in relation to the murder case of Mongolian, Altantuya Shaaribu.

Despite the death of PI Bala, which shocked various parties, he is still characterised as a brave crusader in upholding the truth in the high profile case.

This was said by Pakatan Rakyat leaders who visited the deceased’s family of Balasubramaniam in Taman Pelangi, Rawang to pay their last respects.

Among those present were PKR President, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Selayang Member of Parliament, William Leong, Rawang Assemblyman, Gan Pei Nei and PKR Women’s Wing Deputy Chief, Norsham Abu Samah.

The wife of the deceased, Sentamil Selvi chanted ‘Demi Rakyat’ (for the people) as soon as PKR de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s wife arrived. “When I met with his wife, the first words she said were ‘Demi Rakyat’.”

“The two words that are very deep for the people and the country.We will continue to fight for justice for all,” she said.

Meanwhile, William asked for anyone who has actual information in regards to this case to come forward so that justice can be fully upheld.

“What is important is that we must continue what was started, to find the truth behind who killed Altantuya and to not stop until those involved are dragged to court to bring about justice.

“Clearly and obviously, those who were convicted for the murder of Altantuya were only following orders.

“This means that the ‘mastermind’ has yet to be arrested, I believe that there are those who are brave to bring about justice,” he added.

Rawang Assemblyman, Gan Pei Nei, appreciates all efforts endeavoured by the late PI Bala before he breathed his last breath when he decided to attend a series of lectures as soon as he came back to Malaysia.

“This decision was made by him to attend a series of talks to tell the people about this matter.

“We will continue this fight.We will provide the necessary assistance to his family,” she added.

The deceased PI Bala left behind a widow and three children; Kishen, 16, Menaka, 14, and Rishi, 9.

He was involved in a joint campaign with PR as soon as he returned from hiding in India, to expose what happened behind the murder of the Mongolian woman, Altantuya Shaariibu in 2006.

He was instrumental in the two statutory declarations in relation to the murder of Altantuya, which connects the supreme leader of the country.

Malaysiakini reported that he was admitted to hospital when his heart stopped after being involved in a series of campaigns together with Pakatan Rakyat.

The news portal reported that Balasubramaniam checked out of the Sime Darby Medical Centre on Tuesday but experienced difficulty in breathing during lunch at a restaurant near his house in Rawang at around 2.30pm.

Balasubramaniam was then rushed to the clinic for help but died before the ambulance arrived from the Sungai Buloh Hospital.

According to his lawyer, who is also the Subang Member of Parliament, R Sivarasa, the late PI Bala was supposed to have a heart bypass surgery in two weeks.
