According to a recipient of the land title in Kampung Seri Aman, P.John Periasammy, 48, a resident of Kampung Harmoni, Ijok, the situation is different from the BN era, where they were only promised, but never followed through.

“Previously, during the time of BN, they also promised to solve the problem of this land title, but it was only lip service, it was never fulfilled.

“Now, it is different. PR seems to be earnestly helping us and today, we finally received the titles to the land of our homes.

“The State Government has fulfilled their promise and now, it is our turn to fulfill our responsibility to win the current State Government in the upcoming elections,” said P.John when met after the 5A Form Presentation Ceremony in the Kampung Harmoni Hall in Ijok yesterday.

A residents of Kampung Seri Sentosa, Amat Ali Yasin, 67, said he was very grateful to finally receive the title to the land which he has been occupying for over 50 years.

“Thank Allah, now I am relieved, I do not have to worry anymore because this land which I have been living on is legally owned by me,” he said.

Arragee Chiniyya, 53 who has been residing in Kampung Seri Sentosa said that this success reflects the attentiveness of the State Government towards the people.

“Today I am happy and I thank the Chief Minister who managed to solve my 30-year problem,” he said.

Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, in his speech said that as of now, more than 70,000 people have received land title grants throughout the period Pakatan Rakyat has governed Selangor.

“No matter what party, everyone has a title to their residential land, the State Government will strive to allow them to receive their rights.

“Similarly with the unused Malayan Railway land, I will give it to the residents there who have the right to it,” he said.

Yesterday, the 5A Form Presentation Ceremony was held at the Kampung Harmoni Hall here, where the forms were presented to 316 residents of Kampung Seri Sentosa, Kampung Sri Aman and Kampung Java Estet.

The 5A form is a land ownership grant from the State Government to a certain individual.

The forms can also be regarded as a confirmation of land ownership by the individual with a premium of RM1,000 only.

During the era of the Umno-BN administration, recipients of the 5A form are required to pay a premium of at least 20 percent of the value of the land which caused there to be grant recipients from the low income group that had to refuse the grant as they could not afford to pay the high premium.
