Sultan: Do Not Be Easily Fooled By Slander And Rumours

SHAH ALAM, 17 Mar: Muslims have been warned to not be easily fooled by slanderous news and rumours which are being spread by the various media.

DYMM (His Royal Highness) the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah said that all news should be examined in greater depth and in detail before making any statements or taking any action.

“Every move, speech, action and decision made will determine one’s own future, as well as the future of ones family and country,” said Sultan Sharafuddin.

He said this during the Bukit Jelutong Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Mosque Opening Ceremony here.

The mosque was built at a cost of RM25.5 million.

The cost was borne by Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah’s wakf (religious endowment) contributions of RM6 million, the Selangor Government (RM11 million), Sime Darby Property Bhd (RM6 million) and collections from the members of the mosque (RM2.5 million).

The Bukit Jelutong Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Mosque which is also the Royal Mosque was built in May 2010 and was fully completed in March 2013.

It has an area of 2.07 hectares and can accommodate about 4,000 people.

Sultan Sharafuddin also said that the Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Mosque committee members have to consist of those willing to shoulder all responsibilities entrusted to them.

“I also assent that the Mosque Committee Members are always honest, competent and professional, as well as being able to cooperate with each other closely to develop a programme that can flourish the mosque.

“Hopefully, this Mosque will also be used as a place for Muslims in this area to come together with a strong and firm spirit of brotherhood.

“The people here should always live in harmony and have an attitude of goodwill,” said the Sultan.

Also present at the ceremony was the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
