GE-13: Student Candidate Withdraws, Supports PR

PUTRAJAYA, 18 Apr: The Student Movement announced to withdraw from contesting in the 13th General Elections (GE-13) for the Pekan Parliamentary seat to make way for a Pakatan Rakyat (PR) candidate.

The announcement was made by the Chairman of Malaysian Students Solidarity (SMM), Safwan Anang in a series of the People’s Independence Tour talks in Desa Pinggiran Putra, hera at Putrajaya last night.

However, according to Safwan, the Students Movement (GM13) will continue to give 100 percent support to PR to capture Putrajaya.

“Students (Movement) is declaring a withdrawal from Pekan but still declares war against Umno-BN.

“Secondly, Students declare that we will be a front machinery to ensure the win in Putrajaya,” said Safwan in front of almost 5,000 residents of Putrajaya.

Also present was the President of PAS, Datuk Seri Tuan Guru Abdul Hadi Awang, Putrajaya PAS Parliament candidate, Datuk Husam Musa, and the candidate for PAS Sepang, Mohamed Hanipa Maidin.

In similar developments, the Pekan Parliament will be defended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak, who will be challenged by a PR candidate who is also the Coordinator for Orange 13, Fariz Musa.
