SHAH ALAM, 16 Apr: Umno-BN act in nominating Perkasa Vice-President, Datuk Zulkefli Nordin for Shah Alam is like ditching the 1Malaysia slogan propagated by Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

The Selangor Chief Minister’s Political Secretary, Faekah Husin described the move as shocking but it proves that the 1Malaysia slogan is merely a slogan.

“His (Najib) 1Malaysia has gone down the drain because having any candidate from Perkasa means that 1Malaysia is lost, is no longer, it was merely a slogan,” she told TVSelangor.

The main aspect of 1Malaysia is a sense of mutual respect and acceptance of one another and the pluralistic society in this country should be united through 1Malaysia.

This is contrarary to Perkasa’s ideology of only focusing on the Malay community.

Previously, Zulkefli sparked controversy when he made a statement insulting the Hindu religion and their Gods recently.

In a video which was uploaded on YouTube, he told of a conversation with a Hindu shop owner in Kuala Lumpur, whose shop was hit by floods and Zulkefli said that the Hindu Gods themselves could not prevent the disaster.

In the meantime, Faekah described Datuk Seri Noh Omar’s decision of being nominated to defend his seat for the Tanjong Karang Parliamentary seat, as also surprising.

“I thought that all Umno-BN candidates have been said to have gone through the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) process.

“I wonder why Noh Omar is on the list of candidates,” she said.

Noh Omar is allegedly linked to several cases of abuse of power such as the subsidised rice saplings, the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) cattle case and also the aquaculture ponds in Tanjong Karang.
