Selangor PKR Positive in Winning 19 State Legislative Assembly seats, 11 Parliamentary seats

PETALING JAYA, 15 Apr: Selangor PKR is positive in capturing 19 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats and 11 Parliamentary seats in the state during the 13th General Elections (GE-13).

Selangor PKR Deputy Chairman, Zuraida Kamarudin in a press conference at the PKR headquarters this morning stated that the confidence was from research and surveys carried out by PKR.

“Therefore, we are optimistic with the target to win seats contested while two other DUN seats are under surveillance and are showing positive progress.

“This is a positive start for the campaign to defend the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat Government so that pro-people policies can be continued for another term,” explained Zuraida who was also announced as a candidate for the Ampang Parliamentary seat.

Yesterday, PKR De Facto Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officially declared the 11 candidates for Parliamentary seats and 21 candidates for DUN seats.

PKR has also named seven women candidates out of the 21 seats contested by PKR, meeting the target of having 30 percent of female candidates in this state.

Zuraida, who is also the PKR Women’s Chief, is optimistic that all the female candidates, including two new faces; Tg Marziah Tg Sulaiman and Dr Daroyah Alwi, will win seats they are contesting for.

“With the declaration of Parliamentary and DUN candidates, PKR’s preparations have already reached 95 percent in facing the GE-13,” she said.

On other developments, she also said that all other preparations such as logistics, information works, local campaigns and the Pakatan Rakyat manifesto, is fully completed.
