KUALA SELANGOR, 23 Apr: Thousands of defamatory leaflets about Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has been distributed during a series of the People’s Freedom Tour at Hotel Sun Inn Square here in Kuala Selangor.
The leaflet is allegedly masterminded by Umno-BN to confuse voters who attended to hear messages from PKR De Facto Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Kuala Selangor Parliamentary candidate, Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, and Bukit Melawati State Legislative Assembly (DUN) candidate, S.Manikavasagam.
Melawati DUN representative candidate, Noor Azhar Jamil claimed that the leaflets were also widely disseminated in several areas in the town of Kuala Selangor.
He said that the malicious act taints democratic practices as proclaimed by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is also the BN Chairman.
In relation to that, a police report was made so that a special investigation will be carried out against these irresponsible parties.
“We intend to make a complaint at the police station, this is an organised conspiracy from parties claiming to be the opposition,” he said when met at the Melawati DUN operations room.
Some content of the defamatory leaflets include a promise by PR to not make Islam the official religion, the word ‘Allah’ can be used by all religions, and removing Malay privileges.
In a series of talks that took place yesterday, nearly 3,000 residents of Kuala Selangor attended to show support for PR.
