PETALING JAYA, 2 Apr: Taman Medan Assemblyman, Haniz Mohamed Talha claims that there are thousands of voters in her State Legislative Assembly who have been changed of their voter locality without their knowledge.

The voters such as housevive, Samsiah Ariffin, 59, who was registered in Taman Medan as a voter and has her identification card address in Taman Medan.

However, after checking details on the Malaysian Election Commission (EC) portal recently, Samsiah was told that she was transferred as a voter in the Seri Setia State Legislative Assembly area.

According Haniza, the act of changing polling stations without prior knowledge is an irresponsible act of certain parties.

“The EC should be responsible for cleaning up the electoral roll. This shows the inability of the EC in carrying out work fairly,” she said in a press conference here at the state PKR headquarters.

Haniza estimates that 4,000 names were removed from the Taman Medan constituency and replaced with new names.

“We will investigate this matter more clearly and we will not remain silent,” she said.

In relation to that, Haniza will bring the case to the attention of the EC together with a police report in the nearest future.

During the GE-12, Haniza won the Taman Medan seat by defeating Umno-BN candidate, Munaliza Hamzah, with a majority of 4,433 votes.
