Umno Incapable of Implementing Manifesto Promises in Selangor

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 Apr: Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR) capability in implementing pro-rakyat (Pro-people) policies such as the provision of free water has already been proven unlike Umno-BN, which just offered the initiative to garner votes in the elections on 5 May.

PR’s determination can be seen when it continued the policy and wants to offer water shares to the people.

Compared to Umno-BN, which since 2008, said that giving free water will bankrupt the state.

Now, Umno-BN is indirectly acknowledging the effectiveness and success of the provision of free water policy when the coalition copied PR, said the former Selangor Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

“From what we see, Umno-BN has started to imitate us in their manifesto, including the provision of free water for the people.

“However, we are confident that Umno-BN is incapable of delivering what the people of Selangor need because what i more important is the government’s own identity.

“Water is the right of the people. That is what PR wants to do, to restructure the water industry and give shares to the people,” said Abdul Khalid who is also the candidate for Port Klang in a press conference today.

Abdul Khalid said that this time, the PR manifesto has been studied from various angles, including implementation and financial impact, compared to the 2008 manifesto.

“We will go to the ground to meet with the people to explain this manifesto and even answer all accusations hurled by Umno-BN.

“A special team has been set up for this purpose, headed by the PKR President, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and the People Institute, to help us.

Abdul Khalid said that PR will implement whatever is outlined in this manifesto when they receive the people’s mandate this 5 May.

PR lunched this manifesto and announced the candidate list at the Shah Alam Independence Square last night.
