SHAH ALAM, 23 May: Youth Solidarity Malaysia (SAMM) stressed that the 505 People’s Voice Assembly will continue if its main driving force, Badrul Hisham Shaharin, or better known as Chegubard, is arrested.

SAMM Propaganda Director, Edy Noor Reduan when contacted said that the people’s assembly, regardless of rank, will still take place at the East field in front of Amcorp Mall this Saturday.

“The assembly was organised by the 505 People’s Voice Coalition will still continue despite the many leaders being arrested.

“This assembly is the people’s assembly. All present are regardless of rank but as the people demanding for democracy which was hijacked by the legacy of colonial regime to remain in power.”

Today, the police arrested Batu Member of Parliament, Tian Chua, Activist Haris Ibrahim and PAS activist, Tamrin Ghafar in different operations which are believed to be related to the 505 People’s Voice Assembly which is to be held this Saturday.

Edy Noor said that SAMM strongly condemns the act of the authorities who are willing to arrest those who speak up and assume Malaysia as a country which has yet to gain independence.

“I dare say that our country seems to be in a situation of yet gaining independence. When those speak the truth are stuffed into lockups and charged on Acts that should have been abolished.

“This is evidence of the failure of (Prime Minister) Najib’s (Razak) Transformation. While the current government is still not valid, even without the support of the majority.”

According to Edy Noor, the arrests shocked many thus uplifting the spirits of activists, charity units and the young people to ensure that this assembly reached its goal.
