KLANG, 2 May: PKR Advisor, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is confident that Pakatan Rakyat (PR) will take over the administration of the Federal Government in Putrajaya from Barisan Nasional (BN) after the 13th General Election (GE-13) this Sunday.

The confidence he expressed in a social programme with the people here in Taman Klang Utama which was attended by 5,000 people as a sign of support for him and PR with chants of “Reform” and “Change”.

Anwar who is also the Opposition Leader said that he was touched by the growing public support towards him despite having been imprisoned and is continuously defamed with various moral issues by the opponent.

“That is why when I was suffering in jail by being kicked, reviled, beaten and shamed, someone told me that it is good because there will be a time that I will rise to lead.

“So do not forget, if it is pain, you know it, if it is hardship, you know hardship, if it is poverty, you know poverty, (and) if it is shame, you know shame.

“When you are lifted as a leader in Putrajaya, do not forget and do not let our children, be it if they are Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans, Dayak and so on, to feel the pain you suffered before,” he said.

Following the extraordinary public support for PR as the election draws near, Anwar warned the Election Commission (EC) to conduct the election freely and fairly.

“Please respect the voice of the people. If they want Pakatan Rakyat, then give them Pakatan Rakyat, if they want Barisan Nasional, then give them Barisan Nasional.

“But no one else determines it, it is not Umno-BN or the EC who decides who votes for whom,” he said.
