PETALING JAYA, 27 May: The agreement made between the Pakatan Rakyat De Facto Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak regarding the 13th General Election (GE-13) is invalid because Najib did not sign the agreement.

Therefore, Anwar claimed that the issue of him violating the agreement which was arranged by the former President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla before the GE-13 is non-existent.

Anwar said that there were three conditions in the agreement which needed to be agreed upon by him and Najib for the agreement to be met.

“First, both parties needed to agree that the process and the ethics of the campaign needed to be adhered to. There should not be any personal attacks, obloquy or defamation in the media space as done by Utusan and TV3.

“I am mentioning with specifics. Just read Utusan and watch TV3. This should be stopped. There is no conflict in the discussion.

“Second, the election has to be clean, free and fair. In Indonesia it is called ‘Pemilu Jurdin’ (Fair Elections).

“Third, based on both aforementioned factors, transition has to be carried out peacefully and both parties need to accept the results well.

“Additionally, there should be no elements of revenge or evil political allegations, no feelings of punishing anyone based on previous enmity.

“Also stated is that there should be an attitude of reconciliation to appease political tension,” said Anwar in a press conference here today.

Several weeks ago, Jusuf urged Anwar to fulfil the promise and to accept the results of the GE-13.

According to Anwar, whatever was contained in the said document was not adhered to and this can be seen from the media display as well as his statement of wanting fair media access.

Earlier, Anwar and his wife, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail who is also the President of PKR lodged a police report at the Tropicana Police Station regarding the indelible ink used in the recent GE-13.
