GOMBAK, 16 May: Flood problems that frequently occur in Gombak Setia is the main agenda to be solved by Hasbullah Ridhuan.
The new Gombak Setia Assemblyman said that this problem is important because flooding in the are often results in property damage and losses.
He said that most of the existing drains and irrigation in the area are in poor condition and need to improved on to be more efficient.
“The issue of flash floods occur both at townships and villages.
“Therefore, of course the issue of flash floods are closely to the existing drainage and also rivers which I see needs urgent priority,” he explained in an exclusive interview with Selangor Kini.
Among the areas that often face flooding problems are Taman Gombak, Kampung Kerdas and around Sri Gombak.
He added that the close relationship forged with the Gombak District Council and the Department of Drainage and Irrigation previously will be used to find a solution to this problem.
In addition, a number of roads which previously were filled with potholes are also listed to be repaired to improve the comfort of the community in Gombak Setia.
He explained that other problems are being detailed according to priority to organise the framework for the next five years.
“I am getting feedback from village chiefs and Council Members.We have a designated phone line for people to lodge complaints and problems.
“Alhamdulillah we have received and sent text messaged to almost 10,000 residents in Gombak Setia to provide feedback regarding their complaints,” he said.
Meanwhile, a team will be used to expand awareness about the Localising the Selangor Economy (MES – Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor) programmes to the local community.
