GE-13 Irregularities: EC Must Face the People

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 May: The Election Commission (EC) should face the people to explain all accusations and police reports regarding the irregularities during the 13th General Election (GE-13).

PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli said that the willingness of the Deputy EC Chairman, Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar, to meet with anyone, including the #SiasatPRU-13 (Investigate GE-13) committee is an absurdity.

“I find it quite funny when suddenly Datuk Wan Ahmad excitedly wants to meet with me and representatives from Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to discuss,” he said.

Rafizi claimed that PR leaders have held talks with the EC many times but there have been no changes until the GE-13 ended.

“Previously he said that the indelible ink is permanent. When it did not remain, it was because it was not shaken. When it was shaken but still did not remain he said is it did not stay, they prayers cannot be said.

“He has five different versions for every irregularity which we have shown evidence.

“Previously he said that there was not even on blackout in Malaysia. When shown reports yesterday, he said, oh well, we’ll discuss it,” he said sarcastically.

The Member of Parliament for Pandan said this during a press conference at the PKR Headquarters here today.

“I only agreed to meet with him (Wan Ahmad) in a people’s forum where he (Wan Ahmad) will take and receive questions from the people.

“Especially those who experienced themselves the irregularities and we will gather them at a forum. Let him (Wan Ahmad), I, Datuk Johari Abdul, YB Fauziah sit. Let the people ask and he shall answer. That is the best,” he said.
