Loy Sian to Focus on Traffic Congestion in Petaling Jaya

KUALA LUMPUR, 11 May: Hee Loy Sian, who recently received a second mandate as the Member of Parliament for Petaling Jaya Selatan, said that he will concentrate in solving the traffic congestion problem which is troubling residents of the area.

He also wants to solve the problem of hawker and small trader sites in the area where the population in growing denser.

“I want to find a convenient site and build a new market to move these traders to a new area.

“We will try to solve this problem as well as to improve traffic congestion in Section 17,” he added when met during his visit to the Section 17 Morning Market here today.

He also thanked the people for giving him the opportunity to remain as the representative of the people after the recent 13th General Election (GE-13).

Loy Sian, who is the PKR Chairman of the Local Government Bureau, described his victory on the basis of trust given by the people to Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to continue to govern Selangor and the opportunity will not be wasted.

“After winning on 5 May, this is the first day on the field to thank voters for giving me their full support to continue to be the representative of the people in this area.

“I am very grateful for the residents’ positive response and to let me and Pakatan Rakyat win big,” he said.

During the visit, Loy Sian also distributed 1000 roses to visitors in conjunction with the Mother’s Day Celebration which will take place tomorrow.

In the GE-13, Loy Sian received 41,062 votes, defeating his opponent from Barisan Nasional (BN), Sheah Kok Fah who received 21,846 votes. He won by a majority of 19,216 votes.
