PKR the Party of the Future, Has Seats in 14 States

PETALING JAYA, 24 May: PKR is the only component party of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) that won seats in all 14 states in Malaysia.

Deputy President, Azmin Ali said that is previously PKR did not have even a single seat in Sabah, now PKR has won seven Sabah State Legislative Assembly areas and one Parliamentary seat in Penampang.

“The people put such high expectations on Pakatan Rakyat in the 13th General Election (GE-13) with mandate in 89 Parliamentary seats is because of successful unity in Pakatan Rakyat.

“The people’s confidence is still intact that Pakatan Rakyat can bring about changes. Due to that, Pakatan Rakyat leaders cannot make mistakes because it betrays the ambitions of the people,” said Azmin.

He said this in front of about 1,500 delegates from PKR Youth Brigade and PKR Women’s Wing in conjunction with the PKR National Congress which was held here at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Civic Hall.

Azmin added that PKR does not only move once in five years during the election but has the political will and commitment to implement tremendous changes in the country.

He said that the party’s overall development is important in terms of leadership, cadres, organisation an economy.

“The establishment of the Ta’dib Siyasi Institute needs to be established by competent trainers, permanent facilitators, technology advanced training facilities and a amount of provisions to meet the need of this institution.

“This programme should involve leaders and members of the party at all levels and it should be done periodically with a target or 10,000 cadres every year.

“This effort should be the focus of the Youth and Women’s Wings which serves as the heart of the cadres to form a mass movement which is progressive and resilient,” said Azmin.
