PETALING JAYA, 24 May: Pakatan Rakyat (PR) revealed that fraud happened in the 13th General Election (GE-13) with allegations that the number of votes is higher than the ballot papers in the ballot boxes as happened in the Balik Pulau Parliament in Penang.

PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli claims that the voting channel 2 at SRJK (C) Yu Chye recorded a difference between the numbers of ballot paper in the ballot boxes after the poll.

“The Form 13 which is the Statement of Ballot Papers for the Balik Pulau Parliament shows 424 ballot papers issued.

“After calculating and the results transferred to Form 14, the statement of votes after the counting of votes, the results showed that there were 562 votes in the ballot box, 138 more than the number of ballot papers issued,” he said in a press statement today.

The Pandan Member of Parliament said that the number of votes in the ballot box is more irregular for results of Parliamentary and state seats, between 138 to 318 votes.

He said with a low majority and high amount of damaged ballots, the results for channel 2 was enough to change the outcome at the Balik Pulau Parliamentary level and for the Telok Bahang state level.

“This incident proves that the votes counted surpassed ballot papers which were first issued is true.

“This happened in Balik Pulau and would have certainly have happened in other places,” he said.

Meanwhile, PR also claims to have evidence of vote-buying in Penang in the GE-13.

Bayan Baru Member of Parliament, Sim Tze Tzin claims that cash was given to voters after the results were not in favour of PR with the conversion of vouchers given earlier.

“It happened in Bayan Lepas, Pulau Betong and Tanjung Bungah. They gave cash in the three areas during a three-day operation; on 10, 11 and 12 May.

“We have inspected the areas and police reports have been lodged regarding it,” he said.
