KUALA LUMPUR, 20 May: PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli today submitted eight witnesses who were denied their right to vote in the recent 13th General Election (GE-13).

All of them claimed that their names were used first by someone else to vote.

According to Rafizi, apart from lodging police reports, they also lodged reports to the Human Rights Commission (Suhakam).

The eight individuals; respectively voting for Parliaments of Sungai Petani, Rambau, Kuala Selangor, Kemaman, Tumpat, Shah Alam and two others in Serdang.

“Those who lodged reports were not directed, they are not party members, but they acted because they were angry because of this fraud,” said Rafizi in a press statement at the PKR headquarters here at Merchant Square.

Rafizi also dismissed suggestions that the incident occurred due to technical problems, because during the second revision, three clerks at the polling station, all of whom showed that their names have been crossed out which means that someone had already voted using their names.

“If only one Election Commission (EC) clerk crossed out the name, maybe we can believe it to be a technical fault of that one clerk, but all clerks crossed out the name of the voter.

“This thus proves that false MyKads and phantom voters really do exist,” he said.

Rafizi also said that these individuals who lodged the reports had not previously lost their MyKads.

The EC should not make excuses that these eight voters did not affect the outcome of the election because according to Rafizi, this involves the people’s trust in the country’s electoral system.

Apart from voters who came forward to lodge police reports, the #SiasatPRU13 (GE13 Investigation) led by Rafizi also received videos and photos from the public which can be used as evidence of fraud that occurred in the GE-13.

Rafizi added that the EC and the National Registration Department (NRD) are two bodies responsible for fraud and embezzlement in the recent GE-13.
