SHAH ALAM, 30 May: The delay in the appointment of the State Executive Council is only because the Chief Minister received the royal assent from the Selangor Palace after his return from treatment abroad.

Private Secretary to DYMM the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, Datuk Lela Bakti Mohamad Munir Bani said that accusations claiming that the appointment of Exco members was delayed to meet the needs of DYMM the Sultan of Selangor are not true at all.

After the Selangor Chief Minister inauguration ceremony on 14 May, DYMM the Sultan commanded Abdul Khalid to submit a list of the Exco members to receive his royal assent.

DYMM the Sultan received the letter containing the name list of candidates on 20 May, 6 days later, while Abdul Khalid was on leave to receive medical treatment abroad.

According to Munir, Khalid only went before the Sultan to receive the assent from SYMM the Sultan of Selangor on 27 May after his return to the country.

“Therefore, the accusations of a Member of Parliament for the Selangor State stating that the delay in appointment of Selangor State Executive Councillors is to meet the needs of DYMM the Sultan of Selangor are not true.”

Mohamad Munir reminded everyone to not drag the Palace in political affairs to avoid the people’s misconception towards DYMM the Sultan of Selangor.
