Umno-BN Won GE-13 With Three Dirty Tricks

PETALING JAYA, 24 May: Umno-BN allegedly used three dirty tactics during the 13th General Election (GE-13) on 5 May, said DAP Advisor, Lim Kit Siang.

According to him, the three dirty tactics refers to the money politics used to buy votes, lies of allegedly being a dominant race between PAS and DAP, and scare tactics used to scare the people that the May 13 incident will repeat if Pakatan Rakyat (PR) administers the country.

“They, (Umno-BN), used money to buy the people’s votes by providing various benefits which was not only done during the campaign period but in advance of it.

“The second tactic was to lie when they said that PR could not win even if the people vote DAP and that PAS will be the dominant party and vice versa. They also claimed that PAS and PKR are mere puppets.

“The third tactic was to scare the people by saying that havoc, chaos and the May 13 incident will repeat if PR wins,” he said in front of over 3,000 supporters at the PR Thanksgiving Assembly at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) field last night.

He added that despite PR’s desire to capture Putrajaya did not come to pass, he still urges the people to not give up and to continue to fight to demand for a clean election.

He said that the additional seven Parliamentary seats to the 89 is also evidence that the people’s uprising will begin to reject dirty politics and that the people are getting ready to make changes.

“We did not manage to change the government in Putrajaya, but there is progress (additional seats) so much so that the Prime Minister said that the GE result was a Chinese Tsunami but it was a Malaysian Tsunami.

“Although there were attempts to create antagonism between the Chinese and the Malays, it will not be a barrier for us to mobilise politics that fight for the rights of the people without corruption,” he said.
