Associating Disappearance of MH370 with PKR the Work of Shallow Minded People – Johari

KUALA LUMPUR, 17 Mar: Today, PKR leaders criticised the move by some parties of trying to associate the party with the disappearance of the Malaysia Airlines MH370 aircraft on 8 March.

The Member of Parliament for Sungai Petani, Datuk Johari Abdul, said that those issuing irresponsible statement clearly have shallow minds and are too obsessed with politics.

He also asked for any speculation linking the party with the MH370 case to be stopped immediately.

“Everything in life in Malaysia needs to be politicised. When the people are praying, while families are waiting sadly, there are certain people with shallow minds who want to associate this with politics.

“Stop it and anyone who issues such statements, in my opinion, have an unsound mind,” he said at the Parliament lobby today.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Batu, Tian Chua, deemed the allegations as an assumption deliberately done for political purposes.

He also said that the assumption is unfair to the staff of MAS and family members of passengers involved.

“I advise anyone trying to link this with the unfortunate fate of the MH370 aircraft to stop.

“We must focus on our efforts in the investigation and to identify where the missing aircraft is, do not stray from this important effort,” said the PKR Deputy President.

Earlier, the Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, said that it is inappropriate to link the disappearance of the MH370 aircraft with him by making wild accusations that he was the reason why the pilot of MH370, Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, has something to do with the missing aircraft.

Anwar denied that the disappearance of the aircraft has something to do with Zaharie’s sadness about the Court of Appeal’s decision to convict Anwar on sodomy charges and to sentence him to five years in prison a day before MH370 departed for Beijing.
