“The Chief Minister will meet with the residents before the purchase deadline. So far, there are three suggestions, first is for the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) to purchase it at the price of RM170,000 off the original price and the residents will receive a net balance of RM71,000.

“Second, we will allow the residents to reside in it on a hire purchase basis or three, urban settlers will jointly purchase it with the state government and purchase it in stages,” he added.

Meanwhile, he said that the Selangor Government will provide a period of six months from now to each developer that has received approval to build affordable housing in the state to submit their planning permission.

This means that the developers have to submit their planning permission in November and start construction work at the project site in November 2015, as agreed.

He said that despite there being developers who have received approval to build affordable housing since 2001, however many of them have yet to submit their planning permission.

He said that a special committee to monitor the developers have also been established and if they are found to violate the conditions set, stern action will be taken.

“This committee will send a notice to the developer and call them up to ask why have they already been given the approval to build but have yet to submit their planning permission,.

“We will take action if this persists (failure to be carried out), and we will withdraw (the permission),” he said in the Selangor State Assembly (DNS).
