Sultan of Selangor values police sacrifice

SHAH ALAM, 26 May: The service and sacrifices of members of the police force, who often face various risks in performing their duties, received the attention and recognition of DYMM the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

Two police officers, the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters Administrative Staff Officer, Superintendent Raja Ahmad Fuad Raja Abd Rahman and the Petaling Jaya District Chief of Police, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Arjunaidi Mohamed, were each endowed the Darjah Kebesaran at the Selangor State Decoration Award Ceremony.

Raja Ahmad was awarded the Setia-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (S.IS) award which carried the title Datuk, and Arjunaidi received the Darjah Kebesaran Setia Mahkota Selangor (S.M.S), in conjunction with the Sultan of Selangor’s Birthday at Istana Bukit Kayangan today.

Arjunaidi, 51, who began his career in the police force as an ASP Cadet in 1987, when contacted, said that the award received by the security force clearly shows the attentiveness of His Royal Highness (Baginda Tuanku) for the safety of the people of Selangor.

“We are not the only policemen who received decorations from His Royal Highness. Before us, there have been many, and I believe there will be more in future; which reflects the caring attitude of His Royal Highness to the safety of his people.

“This award is also for all members of the Petaling Jaya police force because they played an important duty and role in protecting the safety of the people in this state,” he said when contacted by Selangor Kini.

He said that the decoration makes the police more eager to provide better service to the community.

Also receiving honorary titles was the son-in-law of the Sultan of Selangor, Colin Salem Parbury, who received the Datuk Setia-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (S.S.I.S), which carried the title of Datuk Setia; the Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa, who received the Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (S.P.M.S) decoration which carried the title Datuk Seri and Azmi Atan received the S.IS.
