MBPJ opens 8 mobile counters, facilitate business licence payment

PETALING JAYA, 30 Oct: The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) will open eight mobile counters in conjunction with the Let’s Pay Licence 201 Campaign especially for business licences and vendor licence.

The Mayor of Petaling Jaya, Datin Paduka Alinah Ahmad, said that the initiative is to reduce congestion at the head office counter, especially during peak hours.

4.1

She said that the counter will be first opened at Amcorp Mall on November 3, 4 and 5, followed by One Utama (11, 12 and 13), Sunway Giza (18, 19 and 20) and The Curve (14 and 15 November).

Counters will also be opened at Paradigm Mall (25 and 26 November), Giant Kelana Jaya (4 and 5 December), Jaya Complex Section 14 (9 and 10 December) and Citta Mall (1 December).

“Every counter will open starting 11am until 6pm, except at Citta Mall, which will only be open from 11am to 3pm.

“Hopefully this effort will encourage and give choices to the public to go to a counter near them,” she said during at MBPJ full meeting at her head office today.

4.2

For the renewal of vendor licences, Alinah said that the public can receive services at 22 night market locations, public markets, morning markets and selected MBPJ stalls.

“If the licence holder uses the services of a middleman, the letter of authority with a letterhead must be submitted to MBPJ.

“The reason of this letter of authority is to ensure renewal or new applications are ordered by the licence holders and there is no fraud or falsification of documents,” she stressed.

MBPJ expects 60,585 licences will be renewed next year involving trade and business licences (21,117), advertisements (20,032), external advertisements (220), entertainment (209), dog (9,412), vendors (9,495), hotel (42) and cyber cafes (58).
