Residents asked to be aware of the MPSJ Local Plan 2020

SUBANG JAYA, 24 Oct: The residents in the area administered by the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) have been reminded to play their part in the MPSJ Local Plan 2020 proactively.

The Assemblywoman for Subang Jaya, Hannah Yeoh, said that since it was exhibited for the public earlier this month until now, the LP has not been getting much attention.

She said that most of the residents do not know and are not aware of the importance of the LP which may have a big impact on their future lives.

“Among them, they can see the area zoning or their land and which category it is placed under.

“Sometimes they buy land and intend to make a building but the zoning is for other things; not the same.

“That is why it is important to see for themselves in case there are objections or suggestions they can make to MPSJ,” she said in a media conference today.

Earlier, she and the Assemblyman for Kinrara, Ng Sze Han, were at the MPSJ lobby to hand out public objection forms for further action.

Until now, MPSJ has only received 25 objection forms from the public compared to the number of grievances and objections that are often voiced by the residents, either orally or on social media sites.

“The public needs to be aware that this is their opportunity because after it is gazetted, not much can be done.

“Hopefully the residents’ committee can also be more proactive in ensuring that the public know about this matter,” said Sze Han.

In relation to that, Hannah and Sze Han said that they have also given suggestions to MPSJ to extend the public exhibition period which should end on November 11.

The objection forms can be obtained at the MPSJ building complex or downloaded through the official MPSJ website.
