BN Reps rejected RM200K allocation out of fear, not insult

By: Zuraida Kamarudin

BN representatives who turned down the RM200K allocation by the Selangor Menteri Besar YAB Azmin Ali did so out of fear and pressure to reciprocate and adopt the quid pro quo. For 57 years since Merdeka under the BN rule, no allocations were given to opposition leaders even though it is the rakyat’s money.

Now that YAB Azmin has broken that tradition, the BN leaders are at a loss as to what to do. They do not want the allocation, but they take the car and this lacks consistency if the BN rep claims to be ‘insulted’.

The rakyat in Selangor’s BN constituencies should pressure their ADUNs to accept the RM200K allocation to implement programmes under Program Mesra Rakyat. This money belongs to the rakyat and the BN reps should carry out their duties respectfully. They should not consider this allocation as their personal pocket money.
