SHAH ALAM, 10 Nov: The Selangor PAS today confirmed that they will send a candidate to fill the position of Deputy Speaker for the Selangor State Assembly (DNS).

The Selangor PAS Commissioner Iskandar Samad, said that the candidate has accepted his candidacy and will be voted for during the DUN session on November 24.

However, he refused to reveal the candidate and only said that the candidate is a lawyer.

“The candidate has accepted (the candidacy), I have also signed the candidacy and the decision lies with the Assembly (DNS).

“The candidacy was closed today and the candidate is a lawyer,” he said.

Iskandar said this when met by reporters after the Selangor State Government Departments Monthly Assembly at the SUK Building today.

This was also confirmed by the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, and he said that the candidacy has been closed today.

The Selangor DNS Deputy Speaker seat was left vacant when the incumbent, Seri Setia Assemblyman Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, resigned to allow him to be appointed as the Selangor State Goveernment Executive Council (Exco) member.
