400 gathered in solidarity of Anwar’s struggles

KUALA LUMPUR, 14 Feb: About 400 people from student organisations and youths gathered at the Sogo shopping centre this evening to show support for the PKR de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Malaysiakini reported that also present at the rally, which started around 4,30 pm, was Anwar’s eldest child, Nurul Izzah, PKR Youth Chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Adam Adli, Safuan Anang and Fahmi Zainol.

They also spoke to Nurul Izzah saying that the siblings will guard outside the prison every night.

Meanwhile, Nik Nazmi distributed ‘Much 2 Freedom’ postcards that were addressed to Anwar in prison.

At about 5.40 pm, they began marching towards Dataran Merdeka while chanting ‘Reformasi’ (Reformation) and ‘Hidup Anwar’ (Long Live Anwar).

However, they then moved towards Jalan Tun Perak because Dataran Merdeka was closed.

As they walked, they sang songs of youth and students.

There were 10 police officers seen controlling the traffic. The group filled up two lanes in front of Sogo, and another lane for cars.
