Purchased another private jet, highlights PM’s increasing extravagance

SHAH ALAM, 16 Mar: The latest purchase of a new private jet for the use of the Prime Minister highlights the wasteful behaviour of the central government when the people are asked to be prudent.

In a disclosure by Keadilandaily today, the PKR Vice President, Rafizi Ramli, claimed that Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Razak’s administration bought another private jet on December 1 that was directly awarded by a company.

“Najib Razak’s administration continues to wallow in extravagance and wastage while the country is being shocked by 1MDB’s financial scandals,” said Rafizi, taken from Keadilan Daily.

The Pandan Member of Parliament also referred to the statement by the Prime Minister’s Department during the Parliamentary session in November 2014 that informed that the government already owns five private jets, including the Boeing Business Jet.

He said that this wasteful behaviour is contrary to the situation currently faced by the people as we face an increase in the prices of goods due to the cutting of the fuel subsidy.

“The act of buying another new private jet certainly angers the people when the people are faced to deal with the implementation of the GST two weeks from now.

“The people have to bear the new tax, which is part will be used to pay for the new Prime Minister’s private jet,” he added.
