“This is a place of learning for our children, but the dilapidated condition needs to be upgraded in terms of infrastructure.

“The prayer area they currently have is uncomfortable and causes students to be sprinkled by rainwater,” she said during a press conference.

Apart from the Sungai Kantan SRA, Wan Azizah also managed to visit Sungai Sering in Kampung Batu 10 which is sometimes hit by flash floods.

“We will evaluate and apply for provisions to upgrade the bridge, in addition to asking for cooperation from the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) for maintenance,” she said.

At the same time, she also visited and presented donations to the residents who need help and attention; Hamzah Abu from Kampung Batu 10 and Rohaizan from Taman Kantan Permai.

Hamzah lost a leg due to an accident while his wife is ill and his child suffered a stroke.

Meanwhile, Rohizan’s home is severely cracked due to sedimentation in the housing area which has been taking place since 2010.

“I will extend this issue to the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) for further action,” she said.
