Software to facilitate users to choose the fastest way being developed

SHAH ALAM, 24 Mar: A traffic software that is user-friendly will be developed by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to facilitate users to choose the fastest route to go to a destination.

MBPJ Council Member Lee Suet Sen said that the software application is being studied to be developed in line with the integrated transportation system towards a sustainable city.

“This application will help when using roads. It functions to help users chose the fastest route to their destination.

“The software is not like Waze. We are aware that the Waze application is very comprehensive. So, at MBPJ, we will provide a user-friendly application for users in the MBPJ area alone,” he told Selangor Kini.

Suet Sen said that in the software, information will be uploaded if there is an accident, traffic congestion or traffic light damages.

“Users can make the choice to use a different route as suggested by the software.

“It will also help users with information for MBPJ areas, for example, where the bus stops are and so on,” he said.

He expects for the software to be readily researched and proposed at the end of this year.

“The cost of developing the software has not yet been finalised. It is still in the research stage,” he said.
